Value proposition

Founded September 2014, Jobs R 4 U is a 501(c)(3) organization that exists to ensure economic equity and empowerment for all, especially women, youth, and people of color. We envision a world where all individuals can succeed when given the right resources and are committed to leveling the playing field.

Collectively, our founders Nicole Tinson and Dennis Johnson spent time on the Southside of Chicago and realized that the violence that exists in our community occurs for a number of reasons – one of those reasons being the lack of economic stability. After developing a Blueprint for Social Justice through the Young People For (YP4) Fellowship and conversations about economic justice, we discussed our vision of ending violence by replacing bullets with jobs, and created Jobs R 4 U.

At Jobs R 4 U, we envision a world where all individuals can succeed when given the right resources and are committed to leveling the playing field.

Since our inception, we have developed relationships with organizations and agencies to create solutions to the high unemployment rates and the wage and skill gaps that exist among women, youth and people of color. We also understand the access gap exists, especially among students of color, and are ready to close it through our our services and partnerships with organizations like yours.
