Créée en 1992, UniLaSalle Rennes I Ecole des Métiers de l’Environnement, située sur le Campus de Ker Lann, aux portes de Rennes est une association loi 1901 à but non lucratif et un Etablissement d’Enseignement Supérieur Privé d’Intérêt Général reconnu par l’Etat (EESPIG).
Cette reconnaissance a pour but d’instaurer une équité de fonctionnement entre l’enseignement public et privé. En 2018, l’EME a fusionné avec l’Institut Polytechnique UniLaSalle.
Au travers de modalités pédagogiques innovantes, plusieurs diplômes sont délivrés : Ingénieur en Génie de l’Environnement, Bachelor Environnement et Développement Durable & Mastère Spécialisé® Economie Circulaire.
Pour répondre au mieux aux préoccupations liées au dérèglement climatique et aux exigences de la transition énergétique et écologique, l’école développe sans cesse son réseau d'entreprises, d'associations, de collectivités territoriales, etc. Les élèves bénéficient de tout ce réseau.
Par ailleurs, l’unité de Recherche Cyclann est composée de 18 enseignants-chercheurs. Au travers de leurs travaux, les chercheurs contribuent activement à la mise en œuvre de démarches et politiques d’économie circulaire à l’échelle territoriale afin de permettre l’intégration des principes de la responsabilité sociétale des organisations (RSO) et répondre aux objectifs du développement durable (ODD).
