Towards better energy
Founded in 2011 EdEn is a non-profit and cross-sectional association gathering companies from the energy, building and mobility sectors united around a common goal: driving the energy transition to decarbonise our economies and societies.
Our aim is to contribute to building a carbon-neutral world by 2050 and to increasing society’s resilience to the adverse effects of climate change.
EdEn is chaired by Brice Lalonde, former French minister of the Environment and executive coordinator of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20 conference).
Our recommendations are based on recognised economic and technical expertise, derived from the work of our scientific committee. Our members include French and European economic actors - major industrial groups, SMEs, and consumer associations. We are committed to making Europe a world leader in greenhouse gas emission reductions by:
✅ Promoting technologies and solutions that help reduce greenhouse gas emissions such as nuclear energy, renewables, hydrogen, sustainable fuels, CCUS technologies;
✅ Encouraging the development of more energy performant buildings through the roll out of energy efficient heating equipment and of renovation;
✅ Developing clean mobility through electrification of transport and the promotion of sustainable fuels;
✅ Consolidating European energy independence through enhanced competitiveness and the development of a European strategy for industry and for energy production.
