L’ACCR est chargée de coordonner en France et de développer à l’international le réseau des Centres culturels de rencontre. Elle favorise ainsi leur rayonnement régional, national et mondial à partir de leur enracinement local. Présidée par Hubert Tassy, l’ACCR représente ses membres dans les instances nationales, européennes et internationales. Par ailleurs, elle coordonne pour le ministère de la Culture deux programmes de résidence qui permettent aux CCR français d’accueillir des artistes et professionnels de la culture étrangers ou réfugiés, facilitant ainsi les échanges artistiques et culturels transnationaux.
