The Federation received delegation of power for:
- Organize sports competitions at the end of which are issued international, national, regional and departmental titles
- Carry out the corresponding selections and offer the registration of athletes on the lists of high -level athletes.

En décembre 1980, le squash français géré depuis 5 ans par la Fédération Française de Tennis s’émancipe grâce à la création de la Fédération Française de Squash-Raquettes qui deviendra en 1989 la Fédération Française de Squash (FFSquash).
NOTRE OBJECTIF :
- organiser, de diriger, de contrôler, de développer et de promouvoir le squash ;
- permettre à tous l’accès à la pratique du squash ;
- fédérer toutes les associations, groupements sportifs et/ou Clubs associés pratiquant le squash, rechercher et faciliter la création de telles associations, groupements et/ou Clubs associés, encourager et soutenir leurs efforts ;
- représenter officiellement les membres fédérés tant en France, auprès des pouvoirs publics, qu’à l’étranger ;
- se consacrer de façon générale à tout ce qui concerne le squash, directement ou indirectement, et se prononcer en dernier ressort sur toute question ayant trait à ce sport.
Pour ce faire, la fédération établit tous les règlements nécessaires et les fait appliquer. Elle s’interdit toute discrimination illégale et garantit notamment en son sein la liberté d’opinion et l’égal accès des hommes et des femmes aux instances dirigeantes.
La FFSquash veille au respect de ces principes par ses membres ainsi qu’au respect de la charte de déontologie du sport établie par le Comité National Olympique et Sportif Français. La FFSquash garantit également le respect des droits de la défense.
La Fédération a reçu délégation de pouvoir pour :
- organiser les compétitions sportives à l’issue desquelles sont délivrés les titres internationaux, nationaux, régionaux et départementaux
- procéder aux sélections correspondantes et proposer l’inscription de sportifs sur les listes des athlètes de haut niveau.
La Fédération est représentée au Comité National Olympique et Sportif Français (C.N.O.S.F) et affiliée à la World Squash Federation (W.S.F) ainsi qu’à l’European Squash Federation (E.S.F).
