Founded in 1983 by CCFD-Terre Solidaire, SIDI (Solidarité Internationale pour le Développement et l'Investissement) is a pioneer of social finance in France. For over 40 years, it has financed and supported economic actors in developping countries, with the aim of improving the living conditions of vulnerable populations excluded from conventional financial circuits, particularly in rural areas.
In particular, it supports microfinance institutions, producers' organizations and small and medium-sized businesses with a strong social and environmental impact. In this way, SIDI aims to combat economic inequality and poverty, while addressing the challenges of climate change. SIDI uses also institutional vehicles such as the FEFISOL fund and the ACTES foundation under the aegis of the Fondation Terre Solidaire to finance its activities. In East Africa, it relies on its subsidiary Soluti Finance.
An original and innovative approach:From the outset, SIDI's approach has been based on the principle of a chain of financial solidarity, that linkds global citizens who want to make a difference, to partner organizations and their beneficiaries, thus enabling their money to make lasting improvements to the living conditions of vulnerable populations.
SIDI is accredited as an Entreprise Solidaire d'Utilité Sociale (ESUS) by the French governmant, and its capital shares have been Finansol-certified since 1997.

L'investissement patient et solidaire.
Créée en 1983, par le CCFD-Terre Solidaire, la SIDI (Solidarité Internationale pour le Développement et l'Investissement) est une société pionnière de la finance solidaire en France. Depuis plus de 40 ans, elle finance et accompagne des acteurs économiques dans les pays du Sud, à travers des partenariats innovants et durables, en vue d'améliorer les conditions de vie des populations vulnérables et le plus souvent exclues des circuits financiers classiques, notamment en milieu rural.
Elle soutient en particulier des institutions de microfinance, des organisations de producteurs, des TPE et PME à fort impact social et environnemental. La SIDI vise ainsi à lutter contre les inégalités économiques et la pauvreté, tout en relevant les défis liés aux changements climatiques.
La SIDI utilise des véhicules institutionnels tels que le fonds FEFISOL et la fondation ACTES sous égide de la Fondation Terre Solidaire pour financer ses activités. En Afrique de l’Est, elle s’appuie sur sa filiale Soluti finance.
Une approche originale et innovante
L'approche de la SIDI repose depuis son origine sur le principe d'une chaîne de solidarité financière, qui relie des citoyens, qui veulent donner du sens à leur épargne, aux organisations partenaires et à leurs bénéficiaires, qui lui permet d'améliorer durablement les conditions de vie des populations vulnérables.
La SIDI est agréée Entreprise Solidaire d'Utilité Sociale (ESUS) par l'Etat, et les parts de son capital sont labellisées Finansol depuis 1997.
