Unity Cube is a non -profit association created in Toulouse in 2016. It endeavors to offer adaptations of vacant buildings for temporary accommodation for people in precarious situations.
The association first developed modular adaptation solutions intended to transform unoccupied office buildings in a temporary accommodation center. Concretely, this materializes by the creation of removable partitioning, sanitary facilities adaptable to existing networks in the reception building, and modular furniture that can be used for kitchens.
In addition to these specific adaptation technologies, Unity Cube also offers a global approach to building building, making it possible to optimize spaces according to the exact social need. The association also works to create a visual identity specific to the building which will facilitate its appropriation by future occupants.
In parallel with these technical solutions, Unity Cube has developed expertise in the assembly of temporary occupation project and the change of destination for buildings, with in particular a great mastery of the laws specific to this type of project.
Unity Cube also registers his project in a logic of sustainable development. Thus, the modular solutions proposed can be used on several occupations.
More generally, the Unity Cube team is working on the evolution of our cities towards a more inclusive and resilient management, trying to integrate its temporary occupation projects in a context of urban prefiguration allowing to test and experiment with new practices, whether or technical, social or even organizational level.

Unity Cube est une association à but non lucratif créée à Toulouse en 2016. Elle s'attache à proposer des adaptations de bâtiments vacants à des fins de logement temporaire à destination des personnes en situation de précarité.
L’association a tout d’abord développé des solutions d’adaptation modulaires destinées à transformer de manière réversible les bâtiments de bureaux inoccupés en centre d’hébergement temporaire. Concrètement, cela se matérialise par la création de cloisonnement démontable, de sanitaires adaptables aux réseaux existants dans le bâtiment d'accueil, et de mobilier modulable pouvant être utilisé pour les cuisines.
Outre ces technologies spécifiques d’adaptation, Unity Cube propose également une approche globale de transformation du bâtiment, permettant d’optimiser les espaces en fonction du besoin social exact. L'association travaille aussi à créer une identité visuelle propre au bâtiment qui facilitera son appropriation par les futurs occupants.
En parallèle de ces solutions techniques, Unity Cube a développé une expertise dans le montage de projet d’occupation temporaire et le changement de destination des bâtiments, avec notamment une grande maitrise des législations spécifiques à ce type de projets.
Unity Cube inscrit par ailleurs son projet dans une logique de développement durable. Ainsi, les solutions modulaires proposées peuvent être utilisées sur plusieurs occupations.
Plus globalement, l’équipe d’Unity Cube travaille à l’évolution de nos villes vers une direction plus inclusive et résiliente, en essayant d’intégrer ses projets d’occupation temporaire dans un contexte de préfiguration urbaine permettant de tester et d’expérimenter de nouvelles pratiques, que ce soit ou niveau technique, social ou encore organisationnel.
