A regional, national and international laboratory
The Center for Study and Research Work Organization Power (CERTOP) is a mixed research unit of the CNRS, the Toulouse University - Jean Jaurès and the University of Toulouse III - Paul Sabatier. He has around seventy permanent personnel (researchers and researchers, teacher-researchers, research support staff) and around thirty doctoral students, falling under several disciplines of the human and social sciences (sociology, information-communication, economy).
From 2016 to 2020, the CERTOP was Associated International Laboratory (LIA) of the CNRS in collaboration with Malaysia on themes related to food and health, with a view to Euro-Asian comparison. In this context, CERTOP is at the origin of the Ovalie experimental platform (supported by the Occitanie region, the CNRS and the Toulouse - Jean Jaurès University), dedicated to the analysis of eating practices and behavior. The laboratory also maintains institutionalized partnerships with Vietnam and Brazil and, recently, with China.
The laboratory is also Céreq associate center in Toulouse (Center for Studies and Research on Qualifications).
His work is widely recognized, on a regional, national and international scale. The members of the CERTOP are thus commonly asked as a speaker in research funding institutions, public advisory bodies or expertise agencies and in the debates open to the public.
Since its foundation in 1994, CERTOP has developed research on organizations and public action. Work and the environment have constituted and still constitutes key themes of the laboratory. Gradually, other themes, such as food, health, tourism, gender, training or energy, have been added.

Un laboratoire de portée régionale, nationale et internationale
Le Centre d’Étude et de Recherche Travail Organisation Pouvoir (CERTOP) est une unité mixte de recherche du CNRS, de l’Université Toulouse – Jean Jaurès et de l’Université Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier. Il compte soixante-dix personnels permanents environ (chercheurs et chercheuses, enseignant.e.s-chercheur.e.s, personnels de soutien à la recherche) et une trentaine de doctorantes et doctorants, relevant de plusieurs disciplines des Sciences Humaines et Sociales (sociologie, information-communication, économie).
De 2016 à 2020, le CERTOP était Laboratoire International Associé (LIA) du CNRS en collaboration avec la Malaisie sur les thématiques liées à l’Alimentation et à la Santé, dans une perspective de comparaison euro-asiatique. Dans ce cadre, le CERTOP est à l’origine de la plateforme expérimentale OVALIE (soutenue par la région Occitanie, le CNRS et l’Université Toulouse – Jean Jaurès), dédiée à l’analyse des pratiques et des comportements alimentaires. Le laboratoire entretient, en outre, des partenariats institutionnalisés avec le Vietnam et le Brésil et, depuis peu, avec la Chine.
Le laboratoire est également Centre associé Céreq de Toulouse (Centre d’études et de recherches sur les qualifications).
Ses travaux sont largement reconnus, à l’échelle régionale, nationale et internationale. Les membres du CERTOP sont ainsi couramment sollicités comme intervenant.e.s dans les institutions de financement de la recherche, des instances consultatives publiques ou des agences d’expertise et dans les débats ouverts au public.
Depuis sa fondation en 1994, le CERTOP a développé des recherches sur les Organisations et l’Agir Public. Le Travail et l’Environnement ont constitué et constituent encore des thématiques clés du laboratoire. Progressivement, d’autres thématiques, comme l’Alimentation, la Santé, le Tourisme, le Genre, la Formation ou l’Énergie, sont venues s’ajouter.
