Reef Support is a leading company in coral reef monitoring technology. With a global team and extended Blue Community of partners, volunteers and citizen scientists, we support healthy coral reefs through technology and training.
We develop and maintain open-source marine research tools - Open Coral AI, Open Ocean Data, Algae/Plastic Tracker - for research institutions, reef managers and other coastal operators to map and monitor their MPAs - from small restorations projects to large-scale coastal developments in biodiversity assessments.

Reef Support
Reef Support develops technology for marine monitoring like Coral Reef Monitoring. Open Coral AI is a open-access platform for marine conservation organizations to process (automated) their coral reef surveys using AI. Open Ocean Data is a tool to derive water quality measurements using satellite data for free. Reef Support is based in the Netherlands with the mission to take practical action and support the blue economy with space technology. Our mission is to take practical action and support the growth of the blue economy with robust and cutting-edge technology, including artificial intelligence and satellite imaging. Our proprietary software Reef.io is part of a reef manager's toolkit to streamline MPA monitoring operations and environmental impact assessments. Our tools also extend to coastal businesses that rely on healthy reef systems: aquaculture and fisheries, beach (resorts), and tourism. We also support conservation projects around the world and advocate for participatory science with programs like Reef Students.
