La Conferencia Española de Consejos Reguladores Vitivinícolas (CECRV) es la asociación sin ánimo de lucro que representa a las denominaciones de origen de vino ante la Administración General del Estado y, a través de la European Federation of Origin Wines (EFOW), ante las instituciones de la Unión Europea (Comisión Europeo, Parlamento Europeo y Consejo Europeo). CECRV está reconocida por el Ministerio de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación español como interlocutor válido en materia de figuras de calidad.
CECRV tiene una misión: proteger y promover los intereses y las necesidades de las denominaciones de origen de vino españolas hacia el Gobierno de España, hacia las instituciones de la Unión Europea y hacia otras organizaciones, entidades, instituciones u organismos públicos o privados. Para ello, la Conferencia informa y asesora a las denominaciones de origen sobre las políticas públicas relacionadas con su actividad, con un espíritu didáctico y divulgativo, para facilitar su contextualización y comprensión.
Asimismo, CECRV mantiene una interlocución constante con administraciones públicas y con otras organizaciones o entidades, organiza eventos formativos y divulgativos y realiza una labor de comunicación para transmitir y difundir el significado del concepto denominación de origen, la labor que las denominaciones de origen realizan y sus intereses y necesidades. Y es que la difusión y promoción del concepto D.O., entre poderes públicos, entre operadores del propio sector y de otros sectores y entre los propios consumidores es el otro gran cometido de esta organización.
A través de sus actividades y de su acción, CECRV difunde los valores ligados al vino con denominación de origen: la autenticidad, la diversidad, la importancia y el cuidado del origen, la seguridad alimentaria, el arraigo cultural, la protección del medio ambiente y un estilo de vida saludable.
