Valores sociales y morales de la institución
Los valores de los fundadores de la Escuela Escocesa San Andrés, establecida en 1838, y de la Universidad San Andrés, en 1989, están sustentados en la herencia presbiteriana basada en las Sagradas Escrituras.
En ese marco, la Universidad de San Andrés promueve el debate orientado a la libre y honesta búsqueda de la verdad, sin intenciones proselitistas. No tiene propósitos religiosos: considera que la dimensión religiosa es parte integral de la cultura humana y merecedora, como todos los aspectos de esa cultura, de investigación y discusión.
Aspira a que sus integrantes asuman un liderazgo al servicio de la comunidad y del país, que se caractericen por tener una mente abierta e inquisidora, que sean solidarios con todos los miembros de la sociedad, y que exhiban integridad moral, espíritu conciliatorio y respeto por la diversidad.
