Our history:

Three years ago, the energy companies of the Southern Cone had created the Regional Electric Integration Commission- with the purpose of leading the electrical integration of the systems of the ten countries of South America, sharing experiences and managing the continuous improvement of their member companies. Subsequently, they were inviting the northern countries to form their respective national committees and incorporate them into this organization.
This is how on July 21, 1969, through Decree-Law 1210 of the then Ministry of Public Works, the National Colombian Committee of the Regional Electric Integration Commission was created and ISA was appointed as a leading coordinator. Since then, the Cocier's home have been Isa's offices, where it currently works.

El COCIER es una Asociación de naturaleza civil sin ánimo de lucro que reúne a las empresas y organismos del sector eléctrico colombiano, con el fin de vincularlos entre sí promoviendo la integración e intercambio de experiencias por medio de la información, la creación de Grupos de Trabajo para desarrollo de proyectos que buscan solucionar problemas comunes, fomentando la investigación, estudio y capacitación en reuniones y seminarios a nivel nacional e internacional, así como brindando oportunidades de negocios entre sus miembros y terceros que se vinculen a sus actividades.
Adicionalmente, como comité nacional hace partícipe a todos sus miembros de la Comisión de Integración Energética Regional – CIER, organización de carácter internacional y regional cuyo objetivo es promover y favorecer la integración del sector energético en la región a través de la cooperación mutua entre sus asociados.
Nuestra historia:
En el año 1967 el gobierno nacional crea a Interconexión Eléctrica S.A.-ISA, quien da inició al interior del país, a la interconexión gradual de los sus diferentes sistemas eléctricos.
Tres años atrás las empresas de energía del cono sur, habían creado la Comisión de Integración Eléctrica Regional-CIER- con el propósito de liderar la integración eléctrica de los sistemas de los diez países de Suramérica, compartir experiencias y gestionar el mejoramiento continuo de sus empresas miembro. Posteriormente, fueron invitando a los países del norte a conformar sus respectivos comités nacionales e incorporarlos a esta organización.
Fue así como el 21 de julio de 1969, por medio del Decreto-Ley 1210 del entonces Ministerio de Obras Públicas, se creó el Comité Nacional Colombiano de la Comisión de Integración Eléctrica Regional y se designó a ISA como coordinadora líder. Desde entonces el hogar del COCIER han sido las oficinas de ISA, donde funciona actualmente.
