Social Leadership Program: Work in kindergarten or school for 2 years
At the age of 10, children from socioeconomically disadvantaged families are up to 3 years behind in their performance. That is why Teach For Austria recruits university graduates who are personally and professionally outstanding and who, after intensive pedagogical preparation, teach for at least two years as full-fledged teachers (fellows) at new middle schools in Vienna. During these two years, fellows receive intensive pedagogical and leadership training that is geared towards the further development of the students and the fellows themselves.
Fellows believe in the potential of every single child, are role models for these children and inspire them to accept challenges and take on responsibility. The aim is to enable the children and young people taught to get a high-quality education and/or to attend secondary schools.
Fellows and alumni of this program create a movement of people who are committed to equal opportunities in the education system in the long term.
Teach For Austria is part of the international network Teach For All, which is now active in 37 countries for educational justice and access to high-quality education for all children.

Im Alter von 10 Jahren weisen Kinder aus sozioökonomisch benachteiligten Familien einen Leistungsrückstand von bis zu 3 Jahren auf. Deswegen rekrutiert Teach For Austria persönlich und fachlich herausragende HochschulabsolventInnen, die nach einer intensiven pädagogischen Vorbereitung für mindestens zwei Jahre als vollwertige LehrerInnen (Fellows) an Neuen Mittelschulen in Wien unterrichten. Fellows erhalten während dieser zwei Jahre eine intensive Pädagogik- und Leadership-Ausbildung, die auf die Weiterentwicklung der Schülerinnen und Schüler und der Fellows selbst ausgerichtet ist .
Fellows glauben an das Potenzial jedes einzelnen Kindes, sind diesen Kindern Vorbilder und inspirieren sie, Herausforderungen anzunehmen und Verantwortung zu übernehmen. Ziel ist es, den unterrichteten Kindern und Jugendlichen den Weg zu einer hochwertigen Lehre und/oder an weiterführende Schulen zu ermöglichen.
Durch Fellows und Alumni dieses Programms entsteht eine Bewegung von Menschen, die sich langfristig für Chancengerechtigkeit im Bildungssystem einsetzen.
Teach For Austria ist Teil des internationalen Netzwerks Teach For All, das in mittlerweile 37 Ländern für Bildungsgerechtigkeit und den Zugang zu qualitativ hochwertiger Bildung für alle Kinder aktiv ist.
