Sie fungiert als Bindeglied zwischen allen Disziplinen und fördert so einen umfassenden Informations- und Erfahrungsaustausch. Über ihre Funktion als Informationslieferant für die Mitglieder hinaus dient die DGLR gegenüber der Öffentlichkeit als Sprachrohr der Luft- und Raumfahrt – national und international.
Die DGLR ist so vielseitig wie ihre Mitglieder. Verschiedene Fachbereiche und -ausschüsse gliedern sie in ein strukturiertes Kompetenznetzwerk. Hier kann jedes Mitglied seine Interessensgebiete verfolgen und Gleichgesinnte finden. Bezirksgruppen bieten eine Vernetzungsmöglichkeit auch auf regionaler Ebene. Auf Veranstaltungen haben Mitglieder die Gelegenheit sich zu treffen und auszutauschen.
So fungiert zum Beispiel der Deutsche Luft- und Raumfahrtkongress (DLRK) jährlich als zentrales Forum der Luft- und Raumfahrt in Deutschland. Das DGLR-Weiterbildungsprogramm bietet ein vielfältiges Kursangebot - unser Portfolio umfasst allgemeine Einführungskurse, spezialisierte Fachkurse und Managementkurse und wird fortlaufend weiterentwickelt.
Die Förderung des technisch-wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses ist ein zentrales Anliegen der DGLR. Mit dem Informationsportal „skyfuture“ bietet sie Kontakte und Orientierungshilfe für Ausbildung, Studium und Berufswahl in der Luft- und Raumfahrt. An den Universitäten unterstützt die DGLR studentische Nachwuchsgruppen dabei, eigene praktische Projekte durchzuführen.
