    Eight organizations engaged in the promotion of sustainable development have gathered to create the House of Sustainable Development.     - be a pole of reflection, education, innovation and meetings on sustainable development;
    - offer citizens, businesses and governments to new educational tools on sustainable development;
    - Offer Canadian researchers a research tool on ecological building.

    Huit organisations engagées dans la promotion du développement durable se sont réunies afin de créer la Maison du développement durable. Ce bâtiment écologique démonstratif a pour mission d’inspirer autant les actions des décideurs du secteur immobilier que celles du grand public en faveur du développement durable, et de créer une synergie entre ses membres fondateurs : Amnistie internationale, le Centre de la petite enfance Le Petit réseau, le Conseil régional de l’environnement de Montréal, ENvironnement JEUnesse, Équiterre, Option consommateurs, le Regroupement national des conseils régionaux de l’environnement du Québec et Vivre en Ville.

    Le bâtiment de cinq étages a été érigé après près de dix années de labeur grâce à la volonté et à la mobilisation de partenaires dévoués qui continuent à mettre en commun vision, idées, financement et réseautage d’affaires. Dans le contexte des crises climatiques, énergétiques et économiques, les objectifs que poursuit la Maison du développement durable visent à construire l’avenir sans l’hypothéquer :

    - maximiser le potentiel d’organismes à vocation sociale et environnementale par la cohabitation et la mise en commun de ressources;
    - être un pôle de réflexion, d’éducation, d’innovation et de rencontres sur le développement durable;
    - offrir aux citoyens, aux entreprises et aux gouvernements de nouveaux outils éducatifs sur le développement durable;
    - offrir aux chercheurs canadiens un outil de recherche sur le bâtiment écologique.
