L'IFPEK est un établissement à but non lucratif d'enseignement supérieur en rééducation, réadaptation et réhabilitation. Il est membre de la Fédération des Établissements Hospitaliers et d'Aide à la Personne (FEHAP).
Depuis 2004, il regroupe sur un même site à Rennes trois instituts de formation initiale (Pédicurie-podologie, Ergothérapie et Masso-kinésithérapie) et un service de formation continue à destination des professionnels paramédicaux.
Les volets prévention et recherche sont également au cœur de ses activités d'enseignement et de formation.
