La Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano è lo storico ente preposto alla conservazione e valorizzazione della Cattedrale milanese.
Istituito nel 1387 da Gian Galeazzo Visconti, allora Duca della città, per la progettazione e costruzione del monumento, si adopera da oltre seicento anni, con grande senso di responsabilità, nella conservazione e nel restauro architettonico ed artistico del Duomo, nell’attività di custodia e servizio all’attività liturgica e nella valorizzazione e promozione dello straordinario patrimonio di arte, cultura e storia che il simbolo di Milano possiede ed esprime provvedendo al reperimento delle risorse necessarie al suo mantenimento.
L’attività quotidiana della Veneranda Fabbrica si articola in cinque settori operativi:

♦ i Grandi Cantieri
♦ il Grande Museo del Duomo
♦ l’Archivio storico e la Biblioteca
♦ la Cappella Musicale
Con l’ideazione del ciclo di Attività Culturali in Cattedrale e sulle Terrazze, la Veneranda Fabbrica ha riportato il Duomo al centro della vita culturale e sociale milanese, sensibilizzando i visitatori italiani e di tutto il mondo sulla necessità di preservare, attraverso una cura continua, un bene artistico dal valore inestimabile che appartiene all’umanità intera.
Il Consiglio d’Amministrazione della Fabbrica si compone di sette membri che restano in carica per un triennio, due di nomina dell’Ordinario diocesano e cinque di nomina del Ministero dell’Interno, sentito l’Arcivescovo, tra i quali viene eletto il Presidente.
