La Cámara de Contratistas de Castilla y León es una asociación sin ánimo de lucro fundada en el año 1983 con el fin de promover y defender el desarrollo de la economía de libre mercado, la gestión de los intereses generales de los contratos de obras públicas y privadas y la representación de sus empresas ante las distintas Administraciones.
En la actualidad agrupa más de 80 empresas contratistas, cuya actividad conjunta representa aproximadamente el 70% del total de la obra oficial en Castilla y León.
La Cámara de Contratistas desarrolla una amplia gama de servicios que pone a disposición de sus asociados con el objeto de ayudarles en la gestión diaria de sus empresas: información sobre licitaciones (SIAS), estadísticas del sector, duplicado de proyectos, certificados de incompatibilidades, presentación y retirada de documentos, formación, etc.
Cada uno de estos servicios, integrados en el portal www.contratistascyl.es, es optimizado permanentemente y se amplían cada día de acuerdo a las nuevas exigencias del mercado.
La sede de la Cámara de Contratistas de Castilla y León se ubica en el Edificio Francisco de Praves, levantado sobre una parcela de 6.000 metros cuadrados en la calle Valle de Aran del Barrio España de Valladolid.
Se trata de un edificio singular estructurado en tres partes diferenciadas e interconectadas (administración y aulas; usos múltiples y nave de prácticas), cuya construcción interior con ausencia de revestimientos facilita la tangibilidad de la estructura y de todas las instalaciones, lo que permite considerar el edificio como un 'aula viva' de aprendizaje de la construcción.
Las aulas, con capacidad de hasta 60 personas, y las salas de reuniones y salón de actos están disponibles para las empresas u organizaciones que lo precisen previa reserva.
