    The permanent objective of Renater is to anticipate the evolution of uses and technologies in order to provide its users with ever more efficient solutions.

    Renater is the French member of the Pan-European network of giant research, the main support for international connections of the ESR community in France. He supports international cooperation by sharing the work of R & AMP; D and the dissemination of services within this community.

    RENATER is a public interest group of around 100 people divided between the head office in Paris and 3 regional branches (Grenoble, Montpellier, Rennes).

    RENATER, Réseau National de télécommunications pour la Technologie l’Enseignement et la Recherche, a été déployé au début des années 90 pour fédérer les infrastructures de télécommunication pour la recherche et l’éducation. Afin de mener à bien cette action, le Groupement d’Intérêt Public RENATER a été constitué en février 1993.

    Les organismes membres du GIP RENATER sont : CNRS, France Universités, CEA, INRIA, CNES, INRAE, INSERM, ONERA, CIRAD, IRD, BRGM, ainsi que le Ministère l’Enseignement Supérieur de la Recherche et le ministère de l’Éducation Nationale et de la Jeunesse.

    Plus de 1300 sites sont raccordés via les réseaux de collectes régionaux au réseau national RENATER. Ce réseau à très haut débit évolue sans cesse afin de fournir une connectivité nationale et internationale à la communauté enseignement recherche.
    RENATER propose un portefeuille de services de communication et des services collaboratifs performants et souverains.
    L’objectif permanent de RENATER est d’anticiper l’évolution des usages et des technologies afin d‘apporter à ses utilisateurs des solutions toujours plus performantes.

    RENATER est le membre français du réseau pan-européen de la recherche GÉANT, principal support des connexions internationales de la communauté ESR en France. Il soutient la coopération internationale en partageant au sein de cette communauté les travaux de R&D et la diffusion des services.

    RENATER est un Groupement d’Intérêt Public d’environ 100 personnes réparties entre le siège social à Paris et 3 antennes régionales (Grenoble, Montpellier, Rennes).
