Het Verbond van Verzekeraars is de brancheorganisatie van Nederlandse schade- en levensverzekeraars. Samen vertegenwoordigen de leden meer dan 95 procent van de markt. Het Verbond is een onafhankelijke vereniging die wordt bestuurd en betaald door de leden.
Het Verbond heeft als belangenbehartiger vier hoofddoelstellingen:
1. Vertegenwoordiging van leden
2. Bevorderen imago verzekeringsbedrijfstak
3. Bieden van een platform
4. Dienstverlening
Om de gemeenschappelijke belangen van verzekeraars te behartigen, neemt het Verbond deel aan tal van projecten en werkgroepen op de meest uiteenlopende terreinen. Namens verzekeraars onderhoudt het Verbond intensieve contacten met nationale en Europese politici, buitenlandse zusterorganisaties en andere brancheorganisaties en belangenbehartigers, zoals de Consumentenbond, vakbonden en werkgeversorganisaties.
Het Verbond vindt het van groot belang om goed aangesloten te zijn bij de ontwikkelingen in Brussel. Veel van de wet- en regelgeving die voor verzekeraars relevant is, komt namelijk uit de koker van de Europese Unie.
