La Sociedad Española de Neurología (SEN) promociona y fomenta el progreso de la Neurología, divulgando e impulsando los conocimientos de la especialidad.
Los principales objetivos de la SEN son:
a) Promocionar y fomentar el progreso de la Neurología, divulgando e impulsando los conocimientos de la especialidad y sus principios.
b) Fomentar la interacción entre los profesionales de la especialidad médica neurológica y todos los sectores de la sociedad que con ésta puedan estar relacionados, así como la colaboración y la cooperación entre ellos para el fomento, el desarrollo, el estudio y el conocimiento científico y práctico de la especialidad.
c) Representar los intereses de sus miembros en el marco de las Leyes y ante los organismos de las Administraciones Públicas, Sanitarias y Docentes, y otros órganos o entidades nacionales e internacionales, públicos o privados.
d) Servir de órgano informativo respecto de las funciones y fines de la especialidad y colaborar con entidades públicas o privadas mediante la elaboración de estudios, informes o similares.
e) Procurar la resolución de conflictos entre sus miembros por aspectos relacionados con la especialidad; organizar actividades de carácter profesional, de investigación, formativas, culturales o asistenciales de forma individual o en colaboración con las administraciones públicas, centros de salud, hospitales, colegios de médicos, facultades de medicina o demás sociedades científicas.
