Defence does not hold the monopoly on innovation. Many militaries now leverage technologies developed in the commercial sector rather than developing bespoke solutions for their requirements.​

The BattleLab was born out of the need to embrace uncertainty, pivot in response to rapid global change, and leverage emerging technology faster.

At Dorset Innovation Park, the collaborative environment is a partnership between Dorset Council, Defence and Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership. A centre for innovators to ideate, fail fast and succeed sooner.
