The non -food outlets for agricultural productions are assets of agriculture that are part of sustainable development. The substitution of fossil carbon (petrochemicals) with renewable carbon (agroressources chemistry) is an issue of research in France for the coming years through the development of bio-based products such as: agromaterial, biolubrifiers, biosolvants, surfactants, etc.
The transformation operations being carried out with a minimum impact on the environment and the health of the man, our approach fits within the framework of sustainable chemistry.
Created almost 40 years ago by Professor Antoine Gaset, the agro-industrial chemistry laboratory was the first public research center to register agroressources chemistry in his scientific approach.
Our basic research leads us to generate knowledge of chemical structures, properties and responsiveness of aggromolecules.
Our finalized research leads to the non-food industrial valuation of agriculture products and co-products of agro-food industries.

Les débouchés non alimentaires des productions agricoles sont des atouts de l'agriculture qui s’inscrivent dans le développement durable. La substitution du carbone fossile (pétrochimie) par le carbone renouvelable (chimie des agroressources) est un enjeu de la recherche en France pour les années à venir à travers le développement de produits biosourcés tels que : agromatériaux, biolubrifiants, biosolvants, tensio-actifs, etc.
Les opérations de transformation étant réalisées avec un impact minimal sur l’environnement et sur la santé de l’Homme, notre démarche s’intègre dans le cadre de la chimie durable.
Créé il y a bientôt 40 ans par le Professeur Antoine GASET, le Laboratoire de Chimie Agro-industrielle a été le premier centre de recherche publique à inscrire la chimie des agroressources dans sa démarche scientifique.
Notre recherche fondamentale nous mène à générer des connaissances sur les structures chimiques, les propriétés et la réactivité des agromolécules.
Notre recherche finalisée aboutit à la valorisation industrielle non- alimentaire des produits de l’agriculture et les co-produits des industries agro-alimentaires.
