C’est en 1950, à Cavaillon que l’entreprise familiale Transports CHABAS voit le jour.
A son origine exclusivement centrée sur une activité de transport de fruits et légumes en Provence, sous température dirigée, l’entreprise va connaître à partir du début des années 80, une diversification et une croissance rapide.
En effet, en 1984 devant le besoin de compléter son activité, elle se développe par l’acquisition externe d’une société spécialisée dans le transport de fleurs fraîches, dont le siège social est basé à Nice.
En 1986, toujours avec le même souci de diversifier son activité, elle absorbe et intègre en son siège social de Cavaillon, une société spécialisée dans le transport des produits frais dans le sud de la France.
En 1989, le département transport de Produits Frais se développe à proximité des lieux de production, par la location et l’aménagement d’un local de 300 m2 à Ste Florence, en Vendée. Cette activité évoluant favorablement, une installation plus solide s’avère nécessaire à Saint Fulgent. Ce sera chose faite en 1992.
La distribution se concentre toujours dans le Sud, le long du Bassin Méditerranéen.
