Value proposition
After 17 years of successful projects with Jean Nouvel, Françoise Raynaud decided to establish her own business: LOCI ANIMA, a young, dynamic and innovative architecture agency.
Her three partners and she form a pluridisciplinary and efficient team. Alexandra du Couedic, CEO, handles the business thoroughly; Jonathan Thornhill, a British architect originally, ensures the technical lead of the company’s projects; finally; Pierre Mas, former skipper, conveys his expertise in boat construction to LOCI ANIMA real estate projects to always create innovative solutions.
LOCI ANIMA aims at creating living buildings in accordance with their environment and advocates an architecture inspired by nature.

« Loci Anima » (l'esprit du lieu) est une jeune et dynamique agence d'architecture, crée en 2002 par Françoise Raynaud, achevant 17 ans de collaboration avec Jean Nouvel.
Ses 3 associés créent une équipe pluridisciplinaire et originale : Alexandra du Couëdic, diplômée de l'EDHEC, directeur général; Jonathan Thornhill, architecte anglais qui assure la direction technique des projets et Pierre Mas, ancien régatier (3 participations à l'America's Cup) et fondateur d'une entreprise de construction de bateaux à voile chinois, qui apporte son expertise d'entrepreneur.
Loci anima ambitionne de créer des architectures à vivre, économes pratiques astucieuses et recyclables. Dans tous les projets on retrouve la volonté d'en finir avec la dichotomie ville/nature, les architectures sont des paysages à vivre, à habiter et à planter, des architectures qui accueillent les hommes, les plantes et les animaux en ville.
Loci anima prône une architecture très inspirée de la nature dans sa qualité d'adaptabilité, dans l'évolution possible, dans la transformation, dans l'appropriation par tous.
Loci Anima
Loci anima is an architecture, design and urban planning studio founded by Françoise Raynaud in 2005. Located in Paris, winners of international competitions, loci anima develops a singular & spiritual work, based on holistic convictions, and the constant quest for unity among both people and genres. loci anima’s achievements create ties between human beings and their environment, constructing them, and planting them in buildings conceived as living beings. For example, the Pont d'Issy urban quarter, or the Manhattan residential tower, showcase nature and outdoor spaces. The Les Fauvettes cinema developed for Jérôme Seydoux in Paris, the Alpha media library in Angoulême, the A4-Est macro-lot in Boulogne-Billancourt, and many other projects. With its offices high in the sky above Place de Clichy, the studio has 20 architects and recently opened an office in NYC.
