The Center for Sports Law and Economy (CDES) was founded in 1978, on the initiative of Jean-Pierre Karaquillo and François Alaphilippe, law professors at the University of Limoges.

Le Centre de Droit et d'Économie du Sport (CDES) a été fondé en 1978, à l'initiative de Jean-Pierre Karaquillo et de François Alaphilippe, Professeurs de Droit à l'Université de Limoges.

Le CDES c'est un projet unique porté par trois structures : un laboratoire universitaire, une association (CDES-PROGESPORT) et un cabinet d'avocats (CDES Conseil).
Le CDES c'est une équipe d'une trentaine de personnes aux statuts et expertises divers mais guidés par une passion commune : le sport.
