Accuracy of tumor resection is essential for solid tumors treatment. Beams develops an intraoperative probe (called TRIOP) dedicated to helping surgeons localising precisely and in real time tumor residues and removing them while preserving surrounding sound tissues. Intended for heath facilities with a nuclear medicine department, this probe aims to better preserve the patients' quality of life.
Because its working principle is based on β particles detection, TRIOP is independent from the cancer type. Futhermore, it can be coupled to an excision tool or a suction device, adding them a new functionality and turning them into "smart devices".Original language

La précision du geste opératoire est une étape essentielle dans la prise en charge thérapeutique des tumeurs solides. Beams développe des sondes per-opératoires à destination des chirurgiens pour aider ceux-ci à localiser précisément et en temps réel les résidus tumoraux et les retirer en préservant les tissus sains environnants. Proposée aux établissement de santé dotés d’un service de médecine nucléaire, cette sonde a pour objectif de limiter le risque de récidive mais également de mieux préserver la qualité de vie des patients.
Le principe de fonctionnement de TRIOP reposant sur la détection des particules β, la sonde est indépendante du type de cancer. Par ailleurs, elle peut être couplée à un outil d'exérèse ou un aspirateur, ce qui leur rajoute une nouvelle fonctionnalité et les "augmente" en les rendant plus "intelligents".
