Depuis le 1er janvier 2017, la nouvelle intercommunalité exerce les compétences essentielles à la structuration de l'espace communautaire des 40 communes membres. Dans l'exercice de ces compétences, la Communauté urbaine n'a pas vocation à centraliser. Des pôles de services publics sont répartis sur l'ensemble du territoire intercommunal pour maintenir et préserver une proximité avec les citoyens en créant des relais de service sur le territoire.

Charte de modération des réseaux sociaux de Grand Poitiers
Grand Poitiers souhaite développer une communauté conviviale autour des informations diffusées sur ses réseaux sociaux, communauté qui se développe par l’interaction, le partage de commentaires, la réponse à des questions posées par les usagers ou le dialogue entre les internautes. Il y a lieu que cet espace ouvert à tous reste un espace d’expression agréable et bienveillant avec un dialogue courtois et constructif. Pour ce faire, une charte d’utilisation et de modération des réseaux sociaux s'applique sur les pages gérées par Grand Poitiers.
