The Spanish lung cancer (GECP) group is a cooperative work and research group in this pathology formed by more than 460 professionals who enjoys a high positioning both nationally and internationally.

From the GECP, not only national projects promoted internally are developed, but also collaborates, manages and monitoring in Spain research of research groups from different countries in which the centers adhered to the GECP actively participate.

El Grupo Español de Cáncer de Pulmón (GECP) es un grupo cooperativo de trabajo e investigación en esta patología formado por más de 460 profesionales que goza de un elevado posicionamiento tanto a nivel nacional como internacional.
La investigación para lograr tratamientos más efectivos contra la enfermedad es una de las principales misiones y valores del GECP. Un trabajo que desarrolla desde su sede administrativa. Desde su puesta en marcha, la sede del GECP ha liderado, desarrollado y monitorizado estudios y ensayos en situaciones clínicas diferentes, desde estadios iniciales de la enfermedad, hasta los más avanzados, en los que han sido incluidos más de 18.000 pacientes.
Así, gracias a este espíritu, su know how y un sólido equipo de trabajo y gestión formado por profesionales con una dilatada trayectoria en el sector, el GECP ha logrado un notable posicionamiento entre la comunidad científica y médica en el desarrollo y coordinación de investigaciones en cáncer de pulmón.
Desde el GECP no sólo se desarrollan proyectos nacionales promovidos internamente, sino que también se colabora, gestiona y monitoriza en España investigaciones internaciones de grupos de investigación de diferentes países en la que los centros adheridos al GECP participan activamente.
Equipo de trabajo GECP
La Sede del GECP cuenta con un equipo de trabajo conformado por profesionales con una amplia experiencia y dilatada trayectoria que trabajan por:
• Ofrecer proyectos de investigación ‘llave en mano’ para alcanzar los objetivos previstos de la manera más eficiente.
• Favorecer el trabajo multidisciplinar y la coordinación entre diferentes centros y especialistas.
• Posibilitar el desarrollo de protocolos y nuevas líneas de investigación.
• Facilitar el acceso temprano a nuevos tratamientos y fármacos.
• Potenciar la investigación traslacional.
• Facilitar a los investigadores del GECP la gestión y la participación en los proyectos de investigación.
