Our fields of activity
The international offices support the know-how transfer between Vienna and the cities from the foreign communication network and look after politicians in bilateral delegations. The employees of the city of Vienna and participants of international specialist delegations are provided with detailed and profound information on politics, administration, business, culture and the media of the destinations. Twice a week, selected news from the partner cities show which topics are discussed in the local media. Special research gives the employees of the city of Vienna an overview of the rules and the procedure of other urban administrations in Central and Southeast Europe. The competence of the local employees enables particularly well -founded assessments and the insights of insiders into the current political, cultural and economic situations.
Goals
The aim of the international offices is to further strengthen Vienna as a hub in the heart of Europe, to force the exchange of cities and to ensure Vienna's presence in the target markets. Europe has to develop from an economic and monetary union to a social and environmental union. This also means to maintain the right to self -determination of cities and municipalities in the area of public services (general interest).

Seit 1. Jänner 2016 sind die Internationalen Büros, Unternehmen der Wien Holding, für die Öffentlichkeitsarbeit der Stadt Wien in Belgrad, Berlin, Budapest, Krakau, Ljubljana, Prag, Sarajevo, Sofia und Zagreb zuständig. Bratislava wird vom Headoffice in Wien betreut.
Unsere Tätigkeitsfelder
Die Internationalen Büros unterstützen den Know-how Transfer zwischen Wien und den Städten aus dem Auslandskommunikationsnetzwerk und betreuen PolitikerInnen bei bilateralen Delegationen. Den MitarbeiterInnen der Stadt Wien und TeilnehmerInnen internationaler Fachdelegationen werden detaillierte und profunde Informationen zu Politik, Verwaltung, Wirtschaft, Kultur und den Medien der Zielstädte zur Verfügung gestellt. Zweimal pro Woche zeigen ausgewählte Nachrichten aus den Partnerstädten, welche Themen in den lokalen Medien diskutiert werden. Spezielle Recherchen verschaffen den MitarbeiterInnen der Stadt Wien einen Überblick über das Regelwerk und die Vorgehensweise anderer städtischer Verwaltungen in Mittel- und Südosteuropa. Die Kompetenz der MitarbeiterInnen vor Ort ermöglicht besonders fundierte Einschätzungen und die Einblicke von InsiderInnen in die aktuellen politischen, kulturellen und wirtschaftlichen Situationen.
Ziele
Ziel der Internationalen Büros ist es, Wien als Drehscheibe im Herzen Europas weiter zu stärken, den Austausch der Städte zu forcieren und die Präsenz Wiens in den Zielmärkten sicherzustellen. Europa muss sich von einer Wirtschafts- und Währungsunion zu einer Sozial- und Umweltunion weiterentwickeln. Das bedeutet auch, das Selbstbestimmungsrecht der Städte und Gemeinden im Bereich der öffentlichen Dienstleistungen (Daseinsvorsorge) zu wahren.
